Eight BJP men — including three councillors — were arrested after they were caught on CCTV creating a ruckus at a restaurant in Navsari, south Gujarat.
The men, who were allegedly inebriated, had gone on a rampage as the staff had refused to serve them at midnight. The incident, which occurred three days ago, was recorded in the CCTV installed in the eatery.
After local channels started airing the footage, the police swung into action.
“We have registered a case of rioting and arrested eight persons,” said Nilesh Jajadia, superintendent of police, Navsari. Among them, there were three local councillors.
