Popular rock band Euphoria will record a music video featuring executives from the city's IT sector to support industry body Nasscom's 'Active Commuting' initiative on Saturday.
"Hundreds of executives from various IT firms here auditioned and people were shortlisted to act and be a part of the video. All those featuring in the video are our executives and we have not hired any professional actors. Many areas of Gurgaon that form an identity of the city will be seen in this video," said a Nasscom official.
The band has composed a theme song titled 'Walk On' to promote the cause of non- motorised transport (NMT) in Gurgaon. The video will be shot at different landmarks of Gurgaon through the next five days and is likely to feature local authorities like the deputy commissioner and the commissioner of police among others.
Some of the locations that have been finalised include Crown Plaza hotel, Cyber City, Kingdom of Dreams and Rapid Metro Phase II station. Sources said that an important shot has been planned near Hero BPO in Cyber City where band frontman Palash Sen and senior officials of the IT companies will appear.
A three-month-long campaign promoting the use of NMT is about to be launched soon with support from various groups such as Rapid Metro and the NMT Cell. The campaign will end with a live concert by Euphoria towards the end of the year.
During the next three months, various activities like signature campaigns, shared cab services, quizzes and games will be held.
Another event, 'Cycle for Change', will be held on the lines of Cyclovia in Bogota, Colombia, where some stretches of the main roads are made completely vehicle-free every Sunday.
Residents can come out in large numbers to use the streets for healthy recreational activities like cycling, running, skating, walking and street cricket.
