Two sisters, both minors, were snatched from their home near Gurgaon — after their parents were overpowered — and gang-raped by their landlord’s son and his three friends on Saturday night.

After a preliminary inquiry and medical examination of the girls, aged 13 and 16, the police lodged an FIR against five persons, including the house owner, and arrested them.

The incident took place in Binola, 22km from Gurgaon. “In their statements, the girls have said the son of the house owner and his friends barged into their house and abused and assaulted them and their parents.

Later, they locked the parents, the brother and his wife in and took the sisters to an adjoining building,” said the police. After raping the girls, the four men locked them up in the house and fled.

The sisters and their family remained locked in the whole night. They were freed the next morning after some other tenants found out.

The family rushed to the Bilaspur police station and the police took them to the Gurgaon civil hospital, where a medical examination confirmed rape.

The sisters had come to live with their family only recently and alleged that the owner’s son often teased them. The police, too, said the brother had complained to the owner about his son, following which an altercation had ensued on Saturday night.

The accused will be produced in court on Monday.
