Three unidentified youths gunned down a gym owner in an apparent road rage Incident at Solan on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Lucky, was returning home from his gym at Shaamti, nearly five km from Solan town, when his bike collided with an SUV bearing a Haryana registration number, said police. The occupants of the vehicle entered into a heated argument with Lucky following which they pumped bullets into his chest and fled from the spot.

A passerby saw Lucky in a pool of blood and rushed him to the civil hospital where he was declared brought dead. “We have started probe after registering a murder case,” said Solan additional superintendent of police Manmohan Singh.

He said six youths have been rounded up and are being questioned. The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy. Police said they have prepared sketches of two of the accused based on an eyewitness account. These will be circulated in all police stations in the vicinity and neighbouring states such as Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand, said a police official.

“An eyewitness has given us the registeration number of the vehicle and we have sent a team to Sonepat to inquire about it,” said the ASP. Teams have also been sent to Nalagarh and Baddi.

Police have also obtained the CCTV footage in which three accused are seen. “After fleeing the spot, they stopped their car at some distance and tried to change the numberplate, failing which they abandoned it and disappeared. The SUV was found 1.5 km away from the crime scene,” said an official.
