Hamirpur tops in direct benefit transfer scheme

The district has topped in the state in direct benefit transfer scheme launched by the central government. This was stated by deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar while reviewing the progress made under the scheme on Wednesday.


He said in the second phase of the programme, a sum of Rs. 1.8 crore was transferred in the accounts of 4,093 persons of the district. Una district ranked second under the programme.

He said UID reports also suggested that the district had topped in the registration of persons under the Aadhaar card scheme.

He announced that in future transfer of pension to various beneficiaries and scholarships to the students studying in various classes would also be done through the direct benefit transfer scheme.

Earlier, they had to wait for long to get their dues from various government agencies.
