Bishnoi, Chautala issued show-casue notices for paid news

Hisar Lok Sabha candidates Kuldeep Bishnoi (Haryana Janhit Congress) and Dushyant Chautala (Indian National Lok Dal) have been issued show-cause notices by the media certification and media monitoring committee, Hisar, for publishing paid news in newspapers.

District election officer, Hisar, ML Kaushik, said on Friday that news items "Kuldeep Bishnoi Ko Mila Hazaro Ka Samarthan" was published in Dainik Savera Times on March 24. Also, "Dushyant Chautala Aapke Beech Aaye to Samjhana Main Khud Aaya Hun" published in an evening daily on March 26 and similar news "Dushyant Meri Awaj Ban Ke Aaya Hai Aapke Beech" published in Dainik Paathak Paksh" on same day.

The committee prima facie found all three news as paid news. Kaushik said that Bishnoi and Chautala have been granted 48 hours to respond to notices and in case they fail to do so the committee's decision would be considered as final.

He added that the committee would take a decision to include the expenditure incurred on paid news as per the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) rates to be included in election expenditure of contesting candidates

28 police officers shifted

Haryana government has shifted 28 police officers with immediate effect. An official release said that Vijay Singh, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), HQ, Sirsa, was posted as DSP, city, Fatehabad, against a vacant post. Rajbir Singh, DSP, HQ, Panipat (designate ACP, city Gurgaon) went as DSP, Assandh, in place of Sham Lal, who was posted as DSP, Saffidon, in place of Ramesh Chand, who went as DSP, CID.
