Five get life term for murder

The court of additional sessions judge, Kurukshetra, has sentenced five persons to life term for murder, besides imposing a fine a Rs. 50,000 on each of them.


The convicts are Bhajan Singh, Sukha Singh alias Baini, Angrej Singh, Gurmukh Singh alias Gomi and Jagjeet Singh alias Jassa. They had been booked on May 12, 2012 by Babain police on charges of killing Vineet, a young boy.

The accused were also sentenced to one-year jail under section 148 of IPC, six months under section 323 read with section 149 of IPC and one year under section 324 read with section 149 of IPC, 1860. All the sentences would run concurrently.

One Gurnam Singh was acquitted of the charges, giving him the benefit of doubt.
