HAU mountaineers' contingent flagged off by V-C

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University vice-chancellor, KS Khokhar, flagged off a contingent of university mountaineers which is going for trekking in the high altitudes at Changtang valley (Ladakh).

The student contingent which comprises eight boys and four girls will reach Leh from Spiti valley after crossing the 18,500 feet-high Prang La pass.

Extending best wishes to the mountaineers, Khokhar urged them to study the vegetation of the area along with enjoying the expedition. RK Pannu, director of students' welfare said the contingent, under the leadership of Mukesh Saini and Subhash Chander, would also travel 200 km on foot during the expedition.

Registrar SS Dahiya, PGS dean Raj Bala Grewal, College of Agricultural Engineering dean, AK Goel and Human Resource Management director, Ram Singh were also present on this occasion.

28 police officers shifted

Haryana government has shifted 28 police officers with immediate effect. An official release said that Vijay Singh, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), HQ, Sirsa, was posted as DSP, city, Fatehabad, against a vacant post. Rajbir Singh, DSP, HQ, Panipat (designate ACP, city Gurgaon) went as DSP, Assandh, in place of Sham Lal, who was posted as DSP, Saffidon, in place of Ramesh Chand, who went as DSP, CID.
