Woman delivers baby in toilet

An eight-month-pregnant woman, admitted at a civil hospital Dabwali, gave birth to a baby boy in a toilet, on Sunday.

The condition of the new born has been critical and he has been admitted to a private hospital here.


26-year-old Nema Devi, wife of Ompal, was admitted at a civil hospital Dabwali in Sirsa on Saturday at 11am, after she developed some complications.

"The new born baby is premature and his weight is only 1kg 400 gm. He is feeling difficulty in taking breath, "Dr PR Golyan said.

Whereas, civil hospital SMO MK Bhadu said it was a normal delivery case. The staff nurses had taken the mother to a labour room, where she asked for going to a toilet, and gave birth to the baby.

He added that it was not the negligence of the medical authoroties.
