Raj Singh, president of Haryana Agricultural University Teachers' Association (HAUTA) said: "We have waited for seven days but the government is apathetic and indifferent to our demands of promotion and pension policy. All other universities of the state have already implemented the sixth pay commission in toto but HAU is still awaiting a nod from the government."

The indefinite dharna of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences on Wednesday entered its seventh day. Their demands are similar to that of the HAU teachers. The vice-chancellors of both the universities have already apprised the state government of the "just and genuine" demands of the teachers.
