Kerala high court on Tuesday reserved its judgement on the bail pleas of solar panel scam accused Tenny Joppen, former private secretary to chief minister Oommen Chandy and television actress Shalu Menon.

The bail pleas were reserved by justice SS Sateeshchandran.

Though the advocate general KP Dandapani favoured bail to Joppen, the bail application of Shalu Menon was stoutly opposed.

Joppen is in custody since the last 52 days and Shalu for 46 days.

The government informed the court that they have ratified that approval of Special Investigation Team. The total amount of cheating involved was nearly Rs. 6.85 crore.

Government also informed that all major decisions like criminal liability of individual, approval of charge etc are taken with the knowledge and approval of SIT, which is headed by additional DGP, K Hemachandran.

The scam pertains to cheating of investors of crores of rupees by promising solar panel.
