Deputy commissioner C Palrasu said, "Probably there were some orders from the state government to take over the stadium. We are working on that."

When contacted, an HPCA spokesperson said he had no such information. "This feels like there is an emergency. The state government seems in a hurry," he said, adding that a Ranji match between Himachal Pradesh and Goa was scheduled for Sunday.
