The Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) on Saturday attacked the ruling Congress for its “failure” to take action into corruption charges against BJP leaders.

Kullu legislator and HLP president Maheshwar Singh accused the Virbhadra Singh government of failing to the take concrete action against BJP leaders.

He raised questions over the land allotted to the construction of high-end hotel - The Pavilion - in Dharamsala by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.

“A person who had made complaints against the HPCA hotel now has to file an application in the court as no FIR was registered on his complaint. One can imagine the government's commitment to eradicate corruption,” he added.

The Congress made such hue and cry over telephone tapping. “It is sad to know that inquiry agencies have still not received documents related to telephone tapping,” he said, adding that the party's core committee has decided to question the government over delay in investigations.

Former transport minister Mohinder Nath Sofa criticised BJP's demand for judicial probe into the Congress chargesheet. “The BJP leaders should tell how many judicial probe it ordered during its regime. I don't find the judicial probe fruitful,” he said. He said the party would oppose the BJP candidate in the Mandi Lok Sabha bypoll.
