With an eye on the 2014 Lok Sabha and assembly polls, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday announced doles for a cross-section of society including senior citizens, widows, farmers, labourers and the youth.

Amid scrambling by opposition parties to churn out a suitable alliance, Hooda called the BJP and INLD “backstabbers”  and said the political alignment was not in the interest of people but “for their own vested interests”.
