Expressing discontentment over slow development of various announced projects, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has directed officials concerned to complete the remaining work by September 30.

Hooda said this while presiding over a review meeting of developmental projects in Sonepat on Thursday.

Notably, out of total 390 announcements made concerning developments during the eight-year regime of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the work on 115 projects was behind schedule, while work on 24 development projects have not started so far.

Issuing a strict warning to officials concerned carrying out development works, Hooda said that he would again hold a similar meeting in October to do a reality check on the implementation of meeting deadlines.

He said officers concerned, who are showing laxity in their work, which is resulting in delaying development works, would be punished if they continue the same and further delay the deadline.
On slow pace of Rajiv Gandhi Education City project (RGEC), he said unsatisfactory amount of electricity to RGEC has impeded the development of the city and he would pay special attention in fulfilling the need.

However, senior officers, related to different development projects, assured the chief minister that the deadline set by him would be met.

Haryana Vidhan Sabha speaker Kuldeep Sharma, Sonepat member of parliament Jitender Singh Malik, chief parliamentary secretary Jaiveer Singh, political adviser to CM, Prof Virender, MLAs Sri Krishan Hooda and Jagbir Singh Malik were also present.
