It was only a matter of hours before the situation changed irrevocably for him, when his wife Sunanda Pushkar, 52, was found dead in a five-star hotel in Delhi.

Tharoor had spent all of Friday along with his party colleagues at the AICC session.

He was his usual self and was busy tweeting the proceedings of the session and uploading photographs.

His last tweet from the AICC session read, “Chidambaram suggests that half our candidates for Parliament should be under 35. Trust Young India with power and responsibility!”
