Basking in BJP's triumph in Gujarat polls, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday briefly slipped into one of his characteristic effusive moods here on Tuesday saying he can withstand brickbats but not boquets.

"Phulon ka bojh mein utha nahin sakta magar pattharon ki maar mein sah sakta hoon (I cannot carry the weight of flowers but I can withstand beating by stones)," he told the BJP parliamentary group meeting here after being garlanded by BJP leaders on his arrival at the meeting venue.

In unusual gesture, the BJP threw open the parliamentary party meeting to the media.
