IB officer assaulted by Tamil Nadu police

An Intelligence Bureau officer wasthrashed by Tamil Nadu police men despite showing his identity card when they came in search of his brother who had allegedly beaten up a sub-inspector, police sources said on thursday.
    
Thirunavukkarasu, an Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO), was attacked two days ago, sources said.
    
The officer, who is serving in Andhra Pradesh, had come to his home town for personal work, they said.
    
Thirunavukkarasu was later admitted to a hospital here.
    
An officer in the IB said "he should not have protected his brother who was allegedly involved in attacking a police officer."
