Incessant rains disrupt normal life

Normal life remained affected in Puducherry with rain continuing unabated for the sixth day in succession.

Official sources said that ending 8.30 am on Monday Puducherry and its suburban areas recorded 4 cm rainfall.

All schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal regions remained closed for the fifth day in succession.

Chief Minister V Vaithilingam had told presspersons on Sunday that a detailed report on extent of damage in the rains in Puducherry and Karaikal regions was being prepared and it would be sent to the Home Ministry for assistance.
