Rape attempt on 9-yr-old in Indore, accused held

A miscreant allegedly abducted a nine-year-old girl from Labiabheru area under Chhatripura police station and tried to assault her sexually on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The girl managed to escape from the grip of the miscreant and returned to her grandparents’ home in the night.

Police have lodged a case under relevant sections of IPC and arrested the accused.

As per the victim’s father, he went to sleep along with her three daughters at around 11pm on Monday night.  At around 1am, he got a call from her mother’s house that the girl was with them.

The father, along with his wife, rushed to the spot and found that the girl was in shock.

When the father asked, the girl narrated the entire incident and said that a person Nisar Shah, who was known to the family, abducted her and tried to assault her sexually.

The girl said that when he was trying to open a shutter of a shop, she fled from the spot. As per the girl, Shah was in an inebriated state, when he had abducted the girl. Police have arrested the accused and investigation is going on.

It is worth mentioning here that, on August 30, a two-year-old girl was raped and left bleeding near an ATM in Kela Devi Mandir. Later, the accused was arrested by Indore police.
