The road, which links Garhshankar district on one side and Ropar district of Punjab on the other side with the Tahliwal industrial area of Una district, is being funded to the tune of 90% by the union ministry of commerce.

The minister said the road would give a boost to the pace of industrialisation in the state. He said the detailed project report, sanction and the tender process were completed during the past six months.

He said the PWD authorities had been directed to complete the work in two phases so that the general flow of traffic was not affected and there were bypasses and alternate roads available. He added that the road would be linked with the Jailon-Palkwah-Tahliwal road, which was also being upgraded.

The minister announced that during his recent visit to Delhi, he had got a "modern health and research unit" sanctioned by the union ministry of health and family welfare for his constituency Haroli.

He said the unit, estimated to come up at a cost of `4 crore, would be attached to the Haroli civil hospital, which is currently being upgraded at a cost of `5.26 crore. He said after infrastructure development, this hospital would have the services of six doctors, besides other requisite paramedic staff.

Agnihotri announced that a cattle market would soon be launched in 'Beet' area of Haroli constituency since the primary avocation of the people of this region was agriculture and cattle rearing.
