The Indian Army has foiled an infiltration bid by militants along the Line of Control in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Rampur sector, an army spokesperson said.

“Alert troops opened fire on a group of terrorists attempting to sneak into our territory yesterday (Tuesday) night and forced them back. Search of the area continues,” the spokesperson said.

There were no casualties in the incident and the militants were forced to retreat to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The army launched a combing operation in the area to ensure that none of the militants managed to get in.
