Intermittent rain causes widespread damage in Hamirpur

Heavy rain in the past 24 hours in various parts of the district has caused widespread damage to crops, kutcha houses and schemes of the irrigation-cum-public health department.

Continuous rain has led to a drop in temperature. Reports of disruption in the power supply, water supply and telecom services have also been reported from many parts of the district.

The district received 35mm of rain in the past 24 hours, according to deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar.

He said the total loss in the past 24 hours was around Rs. 70 lakh. It includes a loss of Rs. 20 lakh to 38 houses and cowsheds and the rest of Rs. 49.2 lakh to the IPH department.
