J-K: top cardiologist succumbs to gunshot wound

Kashmir's eminent cardiologist Dr Sheikh Jalal-ud-Din, who was critically injured in an attack by suspected militants on July 18, died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Aiims) in New Delhi on Saturday morning.

Dr Jalal-ud-Din, 64, was the former director of the valley’s premier hospital Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (Skims).

He was shot in the head and his two bodyguards were killed by two unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir’s Pampore area.
