Jaipur police seizes huge cache of explosives, arrests man

The Jaipur police on Tuesday obtained a huge cache of explosives from a villager on the outskirts of the city and arrested him for possession of contraband.

The Jaipur police on Tuesday obtained a huge cache of explosives from a villager on the outskirts of the city and arrested him for possession of contraband.

The cache of explosives seized from the man included 300kg of ammonium nitrate, 400 gelatin rods and 3,200 meters of fuse wire, police said.

The city police arrested Nandram Raigar of Deeppur village on a tip off that he has been keeping the explosive material illegally.

The accused had kept the explosives in six gunny sacks weighing 50 kg each, police said. Raigar had kept the explosives under a temporary shelter near to a hillock few meters away from his residence.

We had received a tip-off following which we arrested him, SHO, Harmada police station, Lakhan Singh told PTI. Police booked the accused under various sections of the Explosives Act 1884.
