A nurse has accused five of her co-staffers at a private hospital of raping her in one of the rooms of the hospital located on the outskirts of Jaipur.

In her complaint to the police, she said one of the staffers named Chhitarmal Kumawat called her to the hospital saying she was needed to attend to a patient, at 9pm on Tuesday.

But when she reached Rajasthan Women and General Hospital, the accused took her to a room and was soon joined by four other men who took turns to rape her for about three hours. They threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the alleged assault.

Besides Kumawat, she named Dr Choudhary, Sagar, Atta Khan and Mukesh Bagar as the accused, said assistant commissioner of police Pratap Ram Meena.

Meena said the nurse was not at her home when a police team went to her home on Thursday morning to record her statement.

The police have filed a rape case including other sections of the IPC and the SC/ST Act. The police have to get the victim medically examined before proceeding with the investigation.
