The party workers were reportedly angry after Somani withdrew his nomination citing personal reasons. AAP leaders Kiran Shekhawat and Jaishree Sharma accused Somani of betrayal. “He has killed the party before it could start its political journey in the district,” said Shekhawat. Somani has withdrawn his name to benefit a political party, she alleged.
However, Somani refuted the charges and said he had withdrawn his candidature due to personal reasons. “I withdrew after informing the party high command,” he said.
The district coordinator of the party, Kirti Sharan Pathak, said, “Somani’s decision has brought a bad name to the party and shattered the dreams of thousands of party workers.”
