Apprehending smuggling of weapons and subversive activities from across the border, authorities on Wednesday imposed night curfew in areas at this side of the International Border (IB) within one km distance of Jammu district for a period of two months.

The order which will remain in force for two months from today restricts the movement of any person or persons during night hours from 2200 hours to 0500 hours in areas at this side of the International Border.

There is an apprehension of smuggling of weapons, subversive and anti-national activities from across the Indo-Pak border in a village adjacent to the international border in the distrtict, Jammu District Magistrate said adding that restrictions on the movement of people during night hours are necessary for the safety of public life and property.
