AIADMK chief Jayaram Jayalalithaa is set to complement the party's spectacular showing in the Lok Sabha election with a book about her only stint in Parliament.

Jayalalitha, hailed as Purutchi Thalaivi (Revolutionary Leader) or simply Amma, plans to publish a compilation of all her speeches delivered in Rajya Sabha where she was a member from 1984 to 1989 before she returned to state politics.

Last Tuesday, when she came here for her first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tamil Nadu chief minister also called on President Pranab Mukherjee and requested him to write the foreword of the book, sources said.

Mukherjee was also in Rajya Sabha when Jayalalitha became its member.

The book, the sources said, will also contain some of her speeches delivered outside Parliament.

The move to bring out a book comes at a time when the AIADMK is set to enjoy considerable clout in central politics.

With 37 Lok Sabha seats, it is the third largest party in the House, next to the Congress, which has 44 seats.

Since Modi government depends on AIADMK for its tacit support in Rajya Sabha, where NDA has not enough seats to push legislations, the southern party might bag a few key positions in Parliament despite being in opposition.

Gearing up for this important role, the AIADMK parliamentarians will find their leader's forthcoming book a handy guide on how to effectively conduct themselves in the House.
