The former BJP leader Kalyan Singh on Tuesday announced formation of a new "Jan Kranti Party". The announcement was made on the occasion of 76 brithday of Kalyan Singh. His son Rajbir Singh would be national president of the new party.

Kalyan Singh said "Hindutav" would be agenda of the party. He has also decided to visit Ayodhya tomorrow to have Darshan of Ram Lala and start his fresh political journey. Singh would be patron of the new party.

Referring to going back to BJP, Kalyan Singh said his supporters had advised him not to go back to any party. Rajbir Singh however refused to comment on the BJP.

In the past after differences with the BJP, Kalyan Singh had floated Rashtriya Kranti Party in December 1999 and in 2001-02 assembly election had won four seats.

In August 2003, Kalyan Singh had joined hands with Mulayam Singh Yadav to form coalition government.

But he returned to BJP before Lok Sabha election in 2004. He again snapped ties with saffron brigade in January 2009 and contested Lok Sabha elections as SP-supported independent candidate from Etah and won the seat.

But Kalyan-Yadav pact broke down after November 2009 byelections in which SP was badly mauled. Yadav's daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav was defeated in Firozabad Lok Sabha bypoll by Congress nominee Raj Babbar.
