Karnal, Ambala get new mayors

The cities of Karnal and Ambala today got new mayors after the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members.


While Congress supported candidate Ramesh Mal was elected as new mayor of Ambala municipal corporation after 13 of 20 members voted in his favour.

Renu Bala, backed by Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) was selected as new mayor of Karnal city. She secured 11 votes of 20. Her husband Sumia Singh is a former Congress acitivist.
