West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee has again accused the Trinamool Congress of having links with the Maoists and asked it to severe "links with the rebels". "The Maoists are a major danger to the state but it would not have become so big had it not got support from the
Trinamool Congress. I am still saying don't keep truck with the Maoists," Bhattacharjee told a Left Front convention at the Netaji Indoor stadium here.

Bhattacharjee alleged that Maoists and Trinamool supporters were killing Left Front supporters in Jangalmahal and were engaging in loot, arson and other forms of violence.

"Not a single day has passed in the past two months when there was not an incident of murder. Even yesterday a man was killed and a forest office burnt down. So far sixty-five of our party supporters have been killed," he said.

Without naming TC chief and Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been demanding withdrawal of the joint forces from Lalgarh area, Bhattacharjee said let the Prime Minister and the union home minister be convinced of such a necessity.

He said that the Maoists were getting support from a section of the people because of their deprivation, but expressed confidence that the state would be free of naxalites soon.
