Legal literacy camp held at Manali village

The Manali subdivisional legal services authority on Sunday organised a legal literacy camp at Khakhnal village, 7 km from here.

People from all walks of life, mostly members of the mahila mandal and panchayati raj institutions, attended the camp. Manali subdivisional legal services authority chairperson Gaurav Sharma said the cause of disputes among people was due to joint ownership of property.

He stressed the need to solve property-related disputes through amicable settlement and reconciliation. “In case of failure in deciding the matter, people are at liberty to seek relief from the court,” said Sharma, civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate.

Besides, Manali Bar Association president RK Sharma stressed on environment conservation, while advocate CS Thakur threw light on female foeticide and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PNDT) Act.

Assistant district attorney Chanan Singh urged people to cooperate with police without fear to ensure punishment to the guilty. Sub-inspector Prashant Thakur threw light on the procedure to lodge an FIR.

Earlier Sapna Negi Pradhan village Panchayat Gojra , Up Pradhan Ram Nath Thakur and BDC Member Rajesh Soni welcomed Gaurav Sharma.
