Life imprisonment to 7 dacoits for murder

A local court has sentenced seven aides of notorious slain dacoit Jagjivan Parihar to life imprisonment for murder.


Additional District and Sessions judge SP Singh on Wednesday sentenced to life all the seven accused.

According to the prosecution, on May 5, 2002, Parihar and his associates had killed Uma Shankar of Chaurela village.

Daya Shankar, brother of Uma Shankar, later lodged a case against Parihar, Param Singh and his other associates Ramendra, Kallu, Mukesh, Kedar, Sukhdev, Samarth and Munna.

Parihar, who held a reward of Rs. seven lakh on his head, and his brother Param had been killed in a police encounter last year.
