Lightning kills 3 of a family in Guntur

Three members of a family were killed when lightning struck them at Kasipadu village of the district last night, district revenue authorities said.

K Durgaprasad (55), a farmer along with his sons -- Ravindra (25) and Srikanth (17), had gone to the field in evening along with his wife Lakshmi when lightning struck him and his two sons.

Lakshmi was saved as she was far away, sources said.

Ravindra was a final-year M Tech student studying in Rajasthan and had arrived in the village a few days ago following Gujjar agitation in that state.
