Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed on Tuesday his first public rally in home state Gujarat since he took office two years ago.
Earlier during the day, Modi inaugurated the first phase of Saurashtra Narmada Avataran for Irrigation (SAUNI) project in Jamnagar.
The project aims at diverting the floodwater from Sardar Sarovar Dam to several dams of the water scarce Saurasthra region through a network of canal and pipelines. The project intends to fill nearly 115 dams of Saurashtra region that faces shortage of water for irrigation and drinking.
