Mahesh Bhatt, Raj Babbar to go to Baghdad on goodwill visit

Film maker Mahesh Bhatt and actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar will be accompanying the medical support group of the NGO Red Crescent Society to Baghdad on a goodwill visit.

They will join the medical team carrying life-saving drugs and other essentials for injured Iraqis on an Air India flight by the end of the week, president of the Red Crescent society Harshad Siddiqi said on Thursday.

About 15 to 20 doctors will carry 30 metric tonnes of life-saving drugs and milk powder and tinned juice with them, Siddiqi told PTI.

"We have received permission from the government of Iraq and the team will be flying via Damascus," he added.
