Man dies in sixth suicide attempt

A 27-year- old Hisar resident, who had survived five suicide attempts earlier, died at a local hospital after consuming some poisonous substance here on Wednesday.


Police said Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Arya Nagar locality of the town, was upset over his financial condition and he had also lost three of his sons in a period of four years. He died at a private hospital here on Wednesday night, police said.

Surender Kumar, brother of the deceased, said Ramesh had earlier attempted suicide for five times and survived all of them but this time he could not survive.

He has committed suicide by consuming celphos pills, Surender Kumar said.

On Wednesday morning, he was found drunk and unconscious at his house by his brother Surender Kumar who took him to a hospital.  Later, it was found that he had consumed some poisonous substance, police said.
Surender said his brother had become mentally unstable due to financial losses in his vegetable shop in the village and loss of three of his sons in a period of four years.

His postmortem was conducted on Thursday and the body had been handed over to his family members. He was survived by a four-year-old son and wife, police added.
