The girl, now 17, accused her adoptive father Vidhadhar Saini, 40, of raping her often after she turned 14.

The girl said in her complaint to the police that she escaped from his clutches two months ago and arrived in Jaipur where a woman sent her to a girls' shelter home.

Saini was arrested in Okha Port in Jamnagar district of Gujarat, said additional commissioner of police Biju George Joseph.
