The lone survivor, an assistant sub-inspector, who suffered multiple injuries has been airlifted to Ranchi’s Apollo Hospital and is said to be critical.

The incident comes exactly a week after a splinter group Tritiya Prastuti Committee allegedly in association with security forces eliminated 10 Maoist cadres in Chatra district 100 kms north of Ranchi.

At least seven of those killed were top Maoist leaders.
