BSP president Mayawati on Saturday rushed to the state capital to consult with her party leaders and chalk out future course of action regarding expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh’s derogatory remarks.
The BSP supremo arrived in Lucknow in the evening and convened a meeting of party coordinators and other senior leaders to deliberate on the situation and decide future course of action, a senior party leader said.
She will address a press conference on Sunday in this regard, he said.
The leader said the protest programme at all divisional headquarters, barring Lucknow, on July 25 to press for the arrest of Dayashankar Singh, as announced on Friday, stands cancelled for now.
The party had given 36 hours ultimatum to the state police to arrest Singh during its Thursday protest in Lucknow and announced a dharna programme on July 25 to press for his arrest.
