Meerut: Two arrested for gangraping teenager in park, two still at large

A 15-year-old girl was gangraped in a park at Rakshapuram colony of Inchouli police station on Thursday night.


Police have arrested two of the accused while raids are on to nab the remaining two who are still at large.

The girl belongs to village Amhera which is situated close to Rakshapuram colony. The four accused also belong to the same village and one of them was known to the girl.

“An FIR has been lodged against the four accused on the complaint of the girl and her family”, said the SP ( Rural), Capt M M Beg.

SSP Omkar Singh and DM Pankaj Yadav met the family to find out more about the incident and directed the local cops to arrest the accused immediately.

“The girl was sent for medical examination and we are waiting for its report,” said SSP Omkar Singh adding “Prima facie, the charges levelled against accused seem true”.

Meanwhile, two more persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape and hanging of a 45-year-old woman in Ranipur area, a senior police officer said on Friday.

“With this all the five accused have been arrested,” Superintendent of Police, Happy Guptan said.
