Migrant labourer rapes daughters in Solan, arrested

A migrant labourer was arrested for allegedly raping his daughters aged 13 and 16 years here on Tuesday night. Police said the accused had been committing the crime for the past one year.


Accused Raju Parsad from Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh has been staying at Seri village of Barog area for the past couple of years.

The victims lost their mother in 2001 and were staying with their father Parsad. The accused forcibly started raping the elder daughter last year, while the younger was being raped for the past one month.

On Tuesday morning, the victims reached their elder sister Sunita’s house in Barog, who is married there, and narrated their tale of woe to her. Sunita, 24, along with the victims went to Sadar police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.

Station house officer of the police station Chaman Lal recorded the statement of the victims and sent a police team to Seri village to arrest the accused at 11pm.

Superintendent of police Ramesh Chhajta said Parsad had not only raped his minor daughters but had also threatened them with dire consequences. A case was registered against the accused.

At present, the victims are staying with their sister Sunita.
