A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, the army said on Monday.
Two soldiers were injured in the encounter that was launched in south Kashmir on Sunday night after the army received information about the militants. The injured soldiers were evacuated to a hospital for treatment and are now stable, the army said.
One AK rifle and other ammunition was recovered from the operation that concluded on the intervening night of November 6-7.
A Hizbul Mujahedeen militant, who had snatched a rifle from the residence of a politician in September, was killed in an encounter in Shopian district on Saturday.
