A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four men in a moving car on Monday evening. The victim’s family members alleged that when they approached the police first, they refused to file a case.

And when they did, they registered a case of rape, not gang rape. The girl was also made to wait for two days to get her medical test done.

The victim is a Class 8 student and resident of Garhi Samastipur village in Greater Noida. She was allegedly abducted from near her home by four men on March 4 and then gang-raped.

“I went out for a walk when a few men attacked me from behind and pushed me into a car. They raped me and then threw me at an isolated place,” said the victim, who had gone to the district hospital on Wednesday for a medical examination.

The girl’s father, a farmer, said, “We started searching for her when she did not return. When we approached the police, they said she must have eloped with someone.

"We began searching for her on her own and found her near the village.” Her family also alleged that the police forced them not to register rape FIR but a missing complaint.

But the police claimed that they did search for the girl and found that she was being held captive by one of the accused, who was known to her.

“The girl has identified two of the accused as Kallu and Jayprakash. Kallu also lives in Garhi Samastipur village,” said a police officer.

Superintendent of Police (rural), Brijesh Kumar Singh, said, “We will arrest all the accused soon. We initially registered a missing FIR on the victim’s father’s complaint.”
