Modi extends best wishes to Amarnath pilgrims

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to the pilgrims who today headed for Amarnath, the holy shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.


Writing on social networking site Twitter, Mr said, wrote, "As the Amarnath Yatra commences, my best wishes to all the pilgrims.

May their yatra be satisfying and spiritually fulfilling.'

The Amarnath yatra kicked off today with the first batch of pilgrims departing from here for the holy cave shrine amid tight security.

A large number of people from Gujarat pay their obeissance every year to Lord Amarnath, one of the holiest shrines of Hindus.
