Chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday asked partymen not to fear Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi saying the BJP prime ministerial candidate was "not a devil" who could "gulp" the Congress.
Virbhadra was addressing partymen at a meeting convened to assess the party's preparations for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
"Modi is not a devil who can gulp the Congress," he said, adding that the Congress achieved victory twice when Modi was in-charge for party affairs in Himachal. "A section of the media had referred to Modi as an atom bomb and hydrogen bomb, but the Congress victories just defused the bomb," he said.
Virbhadra also mocked the claims of rapid development being made by Modi in his speeches.
