Haryana Vidhan Sabha speaker Kuldeep Sharma on Thursday said that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi suffered from oral diarrhea.

Interacting with the mediapersons at a meet-the-press function at Press Club here, Sharma said that in his view Modi, who had recently quoted Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as having called his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh as a "dehati aurat" (village woman), suffered from oral or verbal diarhhea.

"Sharif never said it, no one heard it, but Modi will just speak anything, anywhere and against anyone and he just start off for over an hour like dialogues on a Ramleela stage," Sharma held.

Sharma, who earlier repeatedly admitted that the institutions of parliamentary democracy were eroding, said that even voters too were responsible for the degeneration, which had set in the politics of the country. "It pains me to see how the duration of assembly sessions have been shrinking and the level of discussions falling," he said.

When asked even opposition parties in Haryana alleged that the speaker was not fair in entertaining their questions and issues, Sharma said that the INLD MLAs were not ready for any discussions in the assembly as they never waited for the question hour to highlight their issues and instead repeatedly disrupted the House proceedings compelling their suspension.

"They (INLD MLAs) held mock assemblies outside the Vidhan Sabha only to hog media attention," he said and termed such assemblies as a "drama to attract media".

On the issue of CDs released by the INLD on Congress MLAs allegedly seeking illegal gratification in lieu of getting change of land use permission, Sharma held that it was a concocted story without any author. "The government has sent a reference to Lokayukta to probe as to whether these CDs are authentic, besides other aspects," he said.

On the issue of five Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) MLAs, who had joined Congress, he said that they had merged their party with the Congress, and that he had acted as per the law.
