iGate's Phaneesh Murthy fired after sexual harassment probe

Outsourcing company iGate Corporation on Tuesday sacked its chief executive officer and one of India's best-known IT executives Phaneesh Murthy for not disclosing to the company his relationship with a subordinate employee, after probing a sexual harassment complaint against him. Murthy had lost his job with India's second largest software exporter Infosys in 2002 following a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by his former secretary Reka Maximovitch. Infosys had paid $3 million to Maximovitch for an out-of-court settlement.

Jessica case: Shayan Munshi, ballistic expert face perjury trial

Delhi High Court on Wednesday ordered perjury prosecution of Bollywood actor Shayan Munshi and ballistic expert PS Manocha for turning hostile in the Jessica Lal murder case. A bench of justice S Ravindra Bhat and justice GP Mittal absolved 17 other witnesses in the case.

Sanjay Dutt shifted to Pune jail from Mumbai

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was secretly shifted from a Mumbai prison to a Pune jail in the wee hours on Wednesday, sources said. The actor was taken from south Mumbai’s high-security Arthur Road Central Jail in a van around midnight to the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune around 4am, an official said. There were three police vans that took him to the Pune jail, he added. The shifting occurred in the wee hours due to security reasons and to avoid media glare.
