Mumbai Class 6 student bags 'Student Icon of India 2008'

City girl was among the four winners as 'Student Icon of India' in the only science and technology competition 'Iken ScientificA' which concluded in Mumbai on Sunday.


Surya Chandrakalia is a winner of the standard six category from Gundecha Education Academy in Western suburbs, Mumbai.

Other winners of the title include Mrunal Shetty in Std five category of St Xavier High School from Vapi, Dipanshi Bansal in the Std 7 category from Dev Samaj Modern School, New Delhi, and Aayushi Parikh in the standard eight category from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Vadodara.

Four lakh students from over 1200 schools in 21 cities participated in the competition 'Iken ScientificA 2008' across the nation. The competition was organised by Axiom Education.

A leader in innovative education system, announced the winners of the nationwide Iken ScientificA competition today in the finale held at Powai.

Iken ScientificA the only science and technology competition organised for school students from class 5th to 8th standard across the country and its focus is to enhance the ability of each participant and to effectively use technology creating human networks that can be utilized to impart quality education of the future, said.
